Memory Tuesday (a day late)

What is your favorite birthday memory?
So I wanted to wait a day to do this memory Tuesday because 22 years ago today I experienced my best birthday ever. I turned 10 years old and I remember standing in the center of the street in Disneyland and watching the fireworks with my mom and we were hugging each other. We had saved up for what seemed like forever to take this trip to California. We went with my Aunt Nene, Uncle Brent, and Jeremy, Hayden and Calvin. There was a lot we did while we were there and there are a TON of memories, (RATBURGER) but I remember this day the BEST of all. It was the best birthday I ever had and I remember my mom bought me my first Minnie Mouse watch and a sweatshirt for me. It was a big deal for me because we didn't have a lot of money so for her to do this was pretty cool.

Sydnie said something last night that really kinda got to me. I have never been big on birthdays. It just means I am getting OLDER and I HATE that. But Sydnie said that she was glad that it was my birthday cause if I wasn't born, then neither would she. That made sense! That was a great way to think and that is how I will forever think of my birthday! (It makes it A LOT easier!)
BTW- 21+11 this year!

My Weekend!

This last weekend I ran away. On Thursday, I packed up my bags and my mom came to stay with the kids and I went to find my love! He wasn't expecting me until Friday, but I wanted to surprise him and any extra time I could spend with him was great. I hopped in the car and set off for Monroe, Ut. I didn't know exactly how to get there so I set off on a journey. I found it! What a cute little town. Everyone drives their 4 wheelers around town. What a way to save on gas!
After I found my way there, I now had to find where he was working. Monroe isn't that big of a place so I thought it should be easy. After driving all the way through town, I was starting to lose hope because I couldn't find him. It shouldn't be that hard. When I got to the end of town, I looked up and saw the crane and knew that's where he was. So I pulled up and there he was! He had his back turned and he didn't see me so I got out of my car and tried to sneak up on him. He turned around and was so surprised to see me. He finished up at work (he was setting trusses) and we headed back to the hotel so he could clean up.
We had an awesome weekend. Just being together. On Friday, the contractor (Brian) and his wife (Lisa) and their family took us out for a ride on the four wheelers. We headed up to the radio towers. It was a beautiful ride. That was until it started to rain. It came down too (And it was cold)! We got back and showered and went to eat at Harold's house (he is the owner of the Assisted Living building that Jon is building down there)They live in a little town called Glenwood. He and his family cooked up some steaks for us and we all just sat and talked while eating on their big porch. We were going to go to the movies that night to see Batman, but we were both worn out and we were going riding again tomorrow so we didn't go. We went back to the hotel and somehow ended up playing poker with some of Jons guys. It ended up with just Codie and I and then I lost. It was fun though.
The next day we went down to Marysville and ate at this place called Big Rock Candy Mountain. It was phenomenal! Definitely a place I would recommend. After our belly's were full we set off on another ride. This time it was up little deer creek canyon.
It was such a nice day for a ride and the canyon was beautiful! After about 3 1/2 miles up, it started HAILING on us! Totally out of the blue. We hid under a tree for a while waiting for it to let up, but it just wasn't. It was a complete downpour and the mud was starting to come down the trail. We thought we better suck it up and try to head down because we were freezing! What a ride down! There were mudslides everywhere and it had even taken out the road in several places. Finally when we were almost down to the bottom, we came across a mud slide that had completely taken out the road and had rolled 2 foot boulders across the trail. It was starting to get a little scary. It took us a while to figure out how to get across. After the boys got across, I got stuck in a foot of mud (with my flip flops on no less)I started to freak out a bit and my sweet husband went back across the muddy river and scooped me up in his arms and carried me back across the river. My hero! Finally we got down to the bottom and took off. We were all covered in mud. What an adventure.
The next day we just hung out together and I took off for home. It was so hard leaving not taking Jon with me. I didn't want to leave him there. But he has worked so hard that he gets to come home early. So hopefully by Friday.

~Memory Tuesday~

This is a special day for memories because 13 years ago today, I said "I do" to the most amazing man I know. I remember walking down the isle and not being able to look at you in the eyes because I was going to lose it. I remember wiping your tears during "Our Song" and all the memories that follow! Wow. 13 years. We have gone through so much in these past years. We have had heartache, sorrow, joy, ecstasy, and pure happiness. We have faced dissapointment, judgement, approval, and excitement. I am not saying that we don't have don't have our problems, because we certainly do. But we work together and have found ways to resolve them. Be bicker, we pick, and we tease one another all of the time. But we always love each other and respect each other. We married when we were very young and so in love and there wasn't too many people who thought we would make it past a year, and we almost didn't. I want to tell my husband how much I love him and what an amazing husband and father he is. He takes such good care of us and I appreciate everything he does to better our lives. You are such an anchor in this family. (and your pretty easy on the yes too!)We are not togther today for our anniversary but I want you to know that I miss you terribly and I can't wait to see you.
I love you sweety! 333 xoxoxo

Saying Goodbye!

This summer has been so much fun for us. We had a visitor for a little over a month. Our nephew Bryce has been staying here and he has been working for Jon at Acadian. He works hard and earns his own money. We have loved having him here. Yesterday we put him on a plane and sent him back home to his parents. we are really going to miss having him around. He is Tukars buddy. They have a special bond between them. Tukar calls him "nice". We can't wait til next year when he comes out again (if he does) He is always welcome here. Some of the highlights with Bryce....
1. the "gun" show
2. swimming
3. camping
4. dancing around

5. the light balls
6. Glow sticks
7. Fishing with Jon
8. ROCK BAND!
and so many more...
We love and miss you Nicey!

Steel Days Concert and Fireworks!

We had a super fun night on Saturday at the Steel Days Concert in American Fork. Our friend Jeff (the drummer) got us some tickets since his band was opening (J.Marc Bailey) So we thought we would go have a relaxing night and listen to some music. A couple of Jon's brothers and their families sat by us. I was really excited because one of the bands that was there was called "The Return" and they are a Beatles tribute band. They were amazing. They sounded so good and they put on a good show. Brekyn was just a jammin to all of the songs. She is a huge Beatles fan. It makes me proud because so am I.
Well Jon grew up in American Fork so we were bound to run into someone he knew and grew up with. Sure enough, we ran into the Bromleys and sat and talked for about an hour. There was a few more Hi's and good to see ya's.
Later, after some amazing music and some good dancin, we layed back for one of the best firework shows that I have seen in a long time. It was a good night for all of us.

Down Memory Lane

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

I'm sure there is something you remember about me?!!

BUNCO!

So after Jon got the bunco taste in his mouth,(we played it at his company christmas party) he decided that it would be fun to play so we started a couples Bunco group. He could not believe how fun it actually was. Every other month 5 other couples(including us so that makes 12) get together and play. We have 6 different prizes that are designed for couples. We have Most Buncos; highest score, lowest score, most yahtzees, traveler, and big fat loser prize. It is up to the hosting couple what they want to get. This month was Jayme and Harmony's turn. First of all if any of you know Harmony, she is party planner of the year I swear! She is so amazing! She comes up with the coolest ideas. When we arrived at their house, Jayme was on his way home from the airport from Japan (wow jet lag) Anyway...she had it decorated like a Luau! She made this centerpiece that was to die for. After a delicious meal of shish-ka-bobs of meat and peppers and roasted red potatoes with crumbled blue cheese on top (WAY TOO YUMMY) we removed shish-ka-bobs of fruit from the centerpiece. You had to see it. I totally forget to take a picture (my bad)
We were all relaxing and talking while Harmony was finishing up last minute things. After a total break down with a sever panic attack (thanks Jeff) we got rolling.
We had so much fun and it is so nice to just hang out with friends.
Then it was time for the prizes. Harmony twisted it up a bit and MADE us all the same thing. She PERSONALIZED us our very own picnic basket filled with some amazing stuff. She seriously is amazing. Just look for yourself!
It was a good night. I truly cherish EVERYONE in our group. I can't wait til next time!!!

More pics from Bunco.....

~Memory Tuesday~

What do you remember about shopping with your mother? Any particular store?

Well I still do it very often(since any of you who know my mom KNOWS she LOVES to shop)
What I remember most and what has stuck with me for most of my life is my mom teaching me HOW to shop. She taught me how to look for bargains, sales, and sometimes when something is cheaper, it really isn't. The only bad thing is that has made me a little anal. I love the feeling when I am at Smith's and I scan all of my groceries, I wait to the end to run my fresh values card because it is almost orgasmic when the total keeps going down from the savings. I know- cheap thrill. I will go to 3 different stores to get the same thing cheaper. I have been better about that though since the price of gas is more than my mortgage. I have learned then stores to go to and the ones to STAY AWAY FROM!
I thank my mom for teaching me this. I have even taught a few people the little tricks of the trade.
Thanks mom!
(I don't think that sounded right using my mom in the same answer as the word orgasmic-LOL!)

Happy Birthday Ty!

We want to wish Happy Birthday to our nephew Tyler! We hope you have an awesome day!
We love ya!

~Memory Tuesday~

Who would you choose for a leading man if you were the actress?

Ok this is an easy one for me. I have what is called a "Laminated List". This list is numbered from 1 to 5. It takes a lot to be on this list and once you are there, it takes a lot to get taken off. Well I will share my list with you....

#1 Matthew Mcconaughey

#2 David Beckham

#3 Brett Favre

#4 Paul Walker

#5 Josh Holloway

So really any of the men on this list could star with me in a movie.
Who would be on your list????

Camping on the 4th

We had a nice relaxing 4th of July weekend. Jon really hates going to the parade and sweating to death, so he decided we needed to go camping. We went back up to Diamond Fork. We had an extra day to camp and we took advantage of it. We packed all of our stuff up and Jon took the trailer up Wednesday night and then went up Thursday afternoon.
Our friends, Kim and Codie, got a new trailer so they had to break it in and what a better weekend to do it. Scott and Lisa came up too with their girls, Lexi and Maddy. My mom even came up for a night. We had a blast. We realxed, played tonz of games, did some crafts, fished a bit, cooked biscuits, made smores, and tried a new treat-----cinnamon rolls over the fire. WOW! YUMMY!!
It was really nice where we were because we were in the shade most of the time, but when it was super hot, we took off to the river and cooled off. It was the perfect temp. Not too cold. While we were there, we found a snake and the girls freaked!
It was a nice weekend to spend with family and friends.

We want to wish all of you a safe and fun 4th! We are so proud to be Americans!

UVUPhoria!

Last night was such a blast. We got tickets to the UVUPhoria Concert with Josh Gracin, Collin Raye and Joe Nichols. We sat and listened to Josh Gracin, and Collin Raye. I was ready for just a relaxing night of listening to music, and that's exactly what I did until Joe Nichols came out. I ran up to check on Tara because she was in the front taking pics. After I was standing right next to the stage and saw Joe singing I wasn't going back to relax. I was staying there and watching him. He is quite easy on the eyes. Tara and I danced and sang and she took a TON of pics. I swear he sang right to me (lol!) I was waiting to hear my Tequila song and I was not disapointed when it came! It was so fun!!!! I have always liked him, but now I think I do a little bit more. I forgot my camera (DUH) so Tara took some awesome pics. I will post them soon!
Sidenote:
I thought about you Dave when he sang "Unshinkable Ships Shink!" LMAO!
All in all it was an awesome concert!

Relaxing Weekend

We had a good weekend. It started Friday when Jon had his annual company BBQ. It is so nice to see everyone and their families. We don't get to see each other a lot, so it is a good time to catch up on what is happening.
Jon and his partners, Mark and Potty, cooked up some mean burgers and dogs. The kids got to play at the park and Sydnie played babysitter. She loves the babies. Tukar loved going down the slide. .After everyone was done eating, they started the usual soccer game.

Later that afternoon, we took off up the canyon for some camping. We got set up and prepared for a nice relaxing weekend. Kimmie, Codie and Kennedy came up along with Jason, Angie and Charley. It was a lot of fun. We played games and just hung out. Saturday, my mom and Pa came up for dinner. Jon took my Pa along with him and Codie while they fished. He was in HEAVEN! I wish I could have been there to see his face. He hasn't been able to what he absolutely loved for a lot of years and he really misses it. That night Jason made us some amazing apple and blueberry cobbler dessert in the dutch oven. It was SO YUMMY and SO NOT ON MY DIET but SO WORTH IT! We did a lot of crafts with the kids to keep them occupied.

It was nice to just get away for a while and relax. I did have quite a scare while we were there though. I had been taking pictures and I pulled my camera out to get some more, and it wouldn't work. OMG!! WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO WITHOUT A CAMERA??? It is like my lifeline. So I missed out in some great pics but I was very glad that when I got home, IT WORKED! Yeah! So back to taking pics!
